Hi, I’m Gareth.

I’m a freelance photographer based in Lancashire, and the North West has been home since 1987. I photograph weddings the way they actually happen: relaxed, unposed and full of the people you love.

Every couple is different, but these never change, whether it’s a village church or a barn full of fairy lights.

    The best photographs from a wedding are rarely the ones anyone planned. I watch, wait and let the day happen, so your gallery is full of real laughter rather than practised smiles.

    A calm pair of hands

    Weddings move fast. I keep things relaxed, keep the timings on track and keep the group shots quick, so you can enjoy the day instead of managing it.

    Your people matter

    I take time to talk to your guests, not just photograph them. When people feel at ease, their personalities come through, and that’s what you’ll want to look back on.

    The nerves, the prosecco and the last-minute hairpins. I arrive early and stay out of the way.

Off the clock

Always chasing the light.

When I’m not at a wedding, I’m usually somewhere with a camera and a long walk ahead: the Lake District, Snowdonia, the Outer Hebrides. On a good night, I’m stood in my own back garden photographing the northern lights.
